“Glee” Version of “Teenage Dream” May Become Show’s Best Selling Single

The “Glee” cover of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” has a chance to become the most downloaded single (for a first week) in the show’s history.
Featuring guest star Darren Criss, the song posted the highest first-day iTunes sales for a “Glee” track at more than 55,ooo units. It’s expected to rack up between 150,000 and 175,000 downloads for the week ending November 14.
The show’s rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” sold 177,000 upon its May 2009 release, which is currently the top sales week for a “Glee” single.
“Teenage Dream” was included in Tuesday’s broadcast of the episode, “Never Been Kissed,” which will reportedly boost Criss to series regular.
